How to form Korean verbs into asking permission:
- Step 1: Drop the μ [yo]
ν΄μ [hae-yo] I do it. β ν΄ [hae] - Step 2: Add -λ λ κΉμ? [do doel-kka-yo?]
ν΄ β ν΄λ λ κΉμ? [hae-do doel-kka-yo?] Is it okay if I do it?
Example: μλ€ [an-da] to sit
- Step 1: Drop the μ
μμμ [an-ja-yo] β μμ [an-ja] - Step 2: Add -λ λ κΉμ?
μμ β μμλ λ κΉμ? [an-ja-do doel-kka-yo?]
μ¬κΈ° μμλ λ κΉμ? [yeo-gi an-ja-do doel-kka-yo?]
Is it OK if I sit here?
- μ¬κΈ° [yeo-gi] means "here"
- μμλ λ κΉμ? [an-ja-do doel-kka-yo?] means "Can I sit?"
λ³΄λ€ [bo-da] means 'to see' but this can also mean 'try doing' when it comes after an action word.
(Action) + λ΄λ λ κΉμ? [bwa-do doel-kka-yo?] Can I try doing (action)?

- λ¨Ήμ΄ λ³΄λ€ [meo-geo bo-da] means "to try eating it"
