Step 1: Drop the ๋‹ค [da]. ๊ณต๋ถ€ํ•˜๋‹ค [gong-bu-ha-da] to study โ†’ ๊ณต๋ถ€ํ•˜ [gong-bu-ha]

Step 2: Add -(์œผ)๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š” [(eu)ryeo-go hae-yo]. ๊ณต๋ถ€ํ•˜ [gong-bu-ha] โ†’ ๊ณต๋ถ€ํ•˜๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š” [gong-bu-ha-ryeo-go hae-yo] I intend to study.

  • When the verb stem ends in a CONSONANT, use -์œผ๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š” [eu-ryeo-go hae-yo] (์ฝ-, ๋จน-)
  • When the verb stem ends in a VOWEL, use -๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š” [ryeo-go hae-yo] (๋ณด-, ์น˜-)
  • When the verb stem ends with ใ„น, use -๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š” [ryeo-go hae-yo] (๋งŒ๋“ค- โ†’ ๋งŒ๋“ค๋ ค๊ณ  ํ•ด์š”)
