How to say one event causes another with -μ„œ [seo]

Ex) Combine 머리가 μ•„νŒŒμš” [meo-ri-ga a-pa-yo] "I have a headache." and λͺ» κ°€μš” [mot ga-yo] "I can't go."

Step 1: Drop the μš” [yo] from the first sentence.
머리가 μ•„νŒŒμš” [meo-ri-ga a-pa-yo] β†’ 머리가 μ•„νŒŒ [meo-ri-ga a-pa]

Step 2: Add -μ„œ [seo] to the first sentence.
머리가 μ•„νŒŒ [meo-ri-ga a-pa] β†’ 머리가 μ•„νŒŒμ„œ [meo-ri-ga a-pa-seo]

Step 3: Add the final sentence.
머리가 μ•„νŒŒμ„œ λͺ» κ°€μš”. [meo-ri-ga a-pa-seo mot ga-yo] I can't go because I have a headache.

머리가 μ•„νŒŒμ„œ λͺ» κ°”μ–΄μš”. [meo-ri-ga a-pa-seo mot ga-sseo-yo]
Because I had a headache, I couldn't go.

  • 머리가 μ•„νŒŒμ„œ [meo-ri-ga a-pa-seo] means "because I have a headache,"
  • λͺ» κ°”μ–΄μš” [mot ga-sseo-yo] means "I couldn't go."

νŠΈμ΄λ‹€λ‘œ κ³΅λΆ€ν•΄μ„œ 빨리 λ°°μ›Œμš”. [teu-i-da-ro gong-bu-hae-seo ppal-ri bae-wo-yo]
