Making Appointments with Friends

Saying that you'll do one thing first and then another thing after that using -고 [go]

Step 1: Drop the 다 [da] and attach 고 [go] for the first verb.
듣다 [deut-da] to listen → 듣고 [deut-go]

Step 2: Make the last verb with the 아/어/해요 form.
말하다 [mal-ha-da] to speak → 말해요 [mal-hae-yo]

듣고 말해요. [deut-go mal-hae-yo]
I listen and then speak.

• 듣고 [deut-go] means "listen and then.."
• 말해요 [mal-hae-yo] means "I speak"

골프를 치고 축구를 해요. [gol-peu-reul chi-go chuk-gu-reul hae-yo]
I play golf and then play soccer.

• 골프를 치고 [gol-peu-reul chi-go] means "play golf and then.."
• 축구를 해요 [chuk-gu-reul hae-yo] means "I play soccer"

아침을 먹고 도서관에 가요. [a-chim-eul meok-go do-seo-gwan-e ga-yo]
I eat breakfast and then go to the library.

• 아침을 먹고 [a-chim-eul meok-go] means "eat breakfast and then.."
• 도서관에 가요 [do-seo-gwan-e ga-yo] means "I go to the library"

주말에 피아노를 치고 공부해요. [ju-ma-re pi-a-no-reul chi-go gong-bu-hae-yo]
I play the piano and then study during the weekend.

• 피아노를 치고 [pi-a-no-reul chi-go] means "play the piano and then.."
• 공부해요 [gong-bu-hae-yo] means "I study"

• A: 오늘 뭐해요?
  What are you doing today?
• B: 오늘 골프를 치고 수영해요. [o-neul gol-peu-reul chi-go su-yeong-hae-yo]
  I play golf and then swim today.
• A: 내일 뭐해요?
  What are you doing tomorrow?
• B: 내일 아침을 먹고 도서관에 가요. [nae-il a-chim-eul meok-go do-seo-gwan-e ga-yo]
  I eat breakfast and then go to the library tomorrow.
• A: 주말에 뭐해요?
  What do you do during the weekend?
• B: 주말에 피아노를 치고 공부해요. [ju-ma-re pi-a-no-reul chi-go gong-bu-hae-yo]
  I play the piano and then study during the weekend.
