Group 2 Verbs typically end in a vowel soundβeither 'i' or 'e'βplus -γ Ex) ι£γΉγ [taberu]
To convert a group 2 verb in the polite form,
- Step 1: take off the '-ru' at the end Ex) ι£γΉγ [taberu] β ι£γΉ [tabe]
- Step 2: add the polite ending -γΎγ Ex) ι£γΉ [tabe] β ι£γΉγΎγ [tabemasu]
ιγγΎγ [shimemasu]
I close.
- Step 1: ιγγ [shimeru] β ιγ [shime]
- Step 2: ιγ [shime] β ιγγΎγ [shimemasu]
Exception for Group 1 verb (these verbs end in 'ru' but are Group 1)
- ζ»γ [suberu] means 'to slide'
- εγ [kiru] means 'to cut'
ζγγΎγ [oshiemasu]

- Step 2: ζγ [oshie] β ζγγΎγ [oshiemasu]
Group 3 only includes two verbs γγ [suru] / ζ₯γ [kuru]
