Ordering Ramen

Group 1 has several rules to making the verbs their 㦠[te] form.
Group 1 verb whose root ends in 'ku':
Example: ęøć [kaku] / åć [hataraku] / čć [kiku]
- Step 1. Make it the polite form
- Step 2. Drop the -ć¾ć [masu]
- Step 3. Drop the k sound before 'i'
- Step 4. Attach 㦠[te]
- ęøć [kaku] ā ęøćć¾ć [kakimasu] ā ęøć [kaki] ā ęøć [kai] ā ęøć㦠[kaite]
Group 1 verb ends with 'nu', 'mu', or 'bu':
Example: čŖć [yomu] / éć¶ [asobu] / 飲ć [nomu]
- Step 1. Drop the last syllable
- Step 2. Attach -ćć§ [nde]
- čŖć [yomu] ā čŖ [yo] ā čŖćć§ [yonde]
Group 1 verb whose last sound before the '-u' is a vowel:
Example: ä¼ć [au] / čØć [iu] / č”ć [iku]
- Step 1. Drop the last syllable
- Step 2. Attach ć£ć¦ [tte]
- ä¼ć [au] ā ä¼ [a] ā ä¼ć£ć¦ [atte]
- Note: č”ć [iku] applies the same rule
