- -면 [myeon] is a conditional marker, meaning "if" or "when" depending on the context.
- 눈이 오면 추워요 [nun-i o-myeon chu-wo-yo] When it snows, it's cold.
Grammar: -시면
- -시면 [si-myeon] is used when addressing someone in a polite or formal context.
- 힘드시면 도와드릴게요 [him-deu-si-myeon do-wa-deu-ril-ge-yo] If you're having a hard time, I will help you.
가져가시면 안 돼요. [ga-jyeo-ga-si-myeon an dwae-yo]
You can't take it.
- 가져가시면 [ga-jyeo-ga-si-myeon] means "if you take it,"
- 안 돼요 [an dwae-yo] means "It's not okay."
