Leaving work politely with -아/어 보겠습니다:
- -아/어 보다 [-a/-eo bo-da] means "to try (doing something)."
- -겠습니다 [-get-seum-ni-da] ending makes it polite and formal.
퇴근해 보겠습니다. [toe-geun-hae bo-get-seum-ni-da]
I'm leaving work.
- 퇴근하다 [toe-geun-ha-da] means "to leave work"
먼저 가 보겠습니다. [meon-jeo ga bo-get-seum-ni-da]
I'll head out first.
- 먼저 [meon-jeo] means "first", "ahead of time"
- 가 [ga] means "go"
- The speaker politely says they will leave first.
수고하셨습니다. [su-go-ha-syeot-seum-ni-da]
Thank you for your hard work.
- 수고 [su-go] means "effort", "hard work"
- 하셨습니다 [ha-syeot-seum-ni-da] means "you did"
- It conveys respect and appreciation.
