어느 쪽으로 가요? [eo-neu jjo-geu-ro ga-yo?]
Which way should I go?

  • 어느 쪽 [eo-neu jjok] means "which way"
  • 으로 [eu-ro] particle used to indicates direction
  • 가요? [ga-yo?] means "I go?"
  • Literally means "Which way, I go?"

앞으로 가요. [ap-peu-ro ga-yo]
Go toward the front.

  • 앞으로 [ap-peu-ro] means "toward the front"
  • Literally means "Toward the front, go"

으로 [eu-ro] and 로 [ro] are both particles that goes with a direction word to indicate motion toward that direction

When the word ends in a CONSONANT sound, we use 으로 [eu-ro]

When the word ends in a VOWEL sound, we use 로 [ro]

뒤로 가요. [dwi-ro ga-yo]
Go toward the back.

  • 뒤로 [dwi-ro] means "toward the back"
  • Literally means "Toward the back, go"

으로 [eu-ro] and 로 [ro] have different use
