뭐가 맛있어요? [mwo-ga ma-si-sseo-yo?]
What would be tasty?

  • [mwo] means "what"
  • [ga] is a particle that marks a subject
  • 맛있어요? [ma-si-sseo-yo?] means "Is it tasty?"
  • Literally means "What, is it tasty?"

수박이 맛있어요. [su-ba-gi ma-si-sseo-yo]
Watermelon would be tasty.

  • 수박 [su-bak] means "watermelon"
  • [i] is a particle that marks a subject
  • 맛있어요 [ma-si-sseo-yo] means "It is tasty"
  • Literally means "watermelon, it is tasty"

[ga] and 이 [i] are both particles that marks a subject.

When the word ends in a CONSONANT sound, we use 이 [i]
수박 [su-bak]
과일 [gwa-il]

When the word ends in a VOWEL sound, we use 가 [ga]
사과 [sa-gwa]
포도 [po-do]

사과가 맛있어요. [sa-gwa-ga ma-si-sseo-yo]
Apple would be tasty.
