Ordering in the Restaurant

There are three pointer words.
이 [i]
This.
저 [jeo]
That. "That" isn't near you or the person you are talking to.
그 [geu]
That. "That" by the other person you are talking to.
Put the pointer words with 거 [geo] to ask, "What's this or that?"
이거 [i-geo]
This thing.
저거 [jeo-geo]
That thing.
그거 [geu-geo]
That thing.
이거 뭐예요? [i-geo mwo-ye-yo?]
What is this?
- 이거 [i-geo] means "this thing"
- 뭐예요? [mwo-ye-yo?] means "What is it?"
- Literally means "This thing, what is it?"
이거 주세요. [i-geo ju-se-yo]
Please give me this.
- 이거 [i-geo] means "this thing"
- 주세요 [ju-se-yo] means "please give it to me"
- Literally means "this thing, please give it to me"
저거 주세요. [jeo-geo ju-se-yo]
Please give me that.
- 저거 [jeo-geo] means "that thing"
- 주세요 [ju-se-yo] means "please give it to me"
- Literally means "that, please give it to me"
Conversation
- A: 이거 뭐예요? [i-geo mwo-ye-yo?]
What is this? - B: 컵이에요.
It's a cup. - A: 저거 뭐예요? [jeo-geo mwo-ye-yo?]
What is that? - B: 피아노예요.
It's a piano.
