Asking for Directions to Osaka

どこにありますか [doko ni arimasu ka]
Where is it?

  • どこ [doko] means "where"
  • [ni] is a particle that marks where
  • ありますか [arimasu ka] means "is there?"
  • Literally means "Where, there is?"

To ask where a specific place is, add the word for 'place' before this question.
Place + (-は [wa]) + どこにありますか [doko ni arimasu ka]

お手洗いはどこにありますか [o tearai wa doko ni arimasu ka]
Where is the bathroom?
